should've stayed in bed with a bottle of something

Ok, so I had the opportunity to pull some test prints in litho on Thursday, and let me just say, I should have avoided that situation. But maybe not. When I go to do some more prints this week, I will have some learnedness in my back pocket. It is becoming one of the best hard works that a person will ever do. In that sense, it is not unlike labor and birth. It's a lot of hard work, but you would do it again in a heartbeat...and trust me, I know about that.

dirty hands

I just wanted to give a shout out today, that is so, so, soooooo good to be back in the shop getting my hands dirty. I'm thoroughly enjoying the whole zen process of litho, but I have to admit, that I was too anxious to start printing and therefore, made a new plate this morning and pulled a couple of prints this afternoon. Complete bliss!

400 lb stones and 100 lb levigators! oh, my!

Whether or not I have any keeper litho prints is nullified by the fact that my upper body will look like Schwarzenegger's by the end of semester. There is definitely blood, sweat, and tears involved in litho printing. That's just the preprint prep! I'm anxious to actually start work on the stones. They definitely command respect.

Litho, baby....

Summer is quickly dwindling and classes begin in two short days. What better way to start off the year than with Litho as the first class. It will be good to be back in the print shop. I am anxious to start new and tweak some old projects (in spare time, ha ha ha). Welcome back everyone!
